FAQ's & Testimonials

Since starting pole lessons with Pole Ambition I have become more confident and willing to give anything a try. I came to class on my own and everyone was very friendly and gave me a lot of encouragement. All the moves are explained extremely well and the instructors are happy to show you the moves over and over again if needed. I would definately recommend Pole Ambition to anyone considering trying a pole class.

Pole Ambition has given me the confidence to appreciate not only the talent of pole dancing itself but also my own strength and abilities. The classes have helped to build my confidence both individually and with other people and I have learnt that pole dancing can be for absolutely anyone! Pole Ambition is fun because of the friendly and positive style of teaching, with encouragement from the very first day to improve and get better. The teachers love it when you can do the moves they are teaching and also work very hard themselves to learn new moves all the time so that we are always learning new and more testing moves.
The classes have provided me with a personal hobby and interest that gives me a bit of independence of my own and something i can be proud of for just myself and its nice to be with other girls who enjoy it just as much!

I've been going to Pole Ambition for 11 months now and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get fit. Everyone is so friendly there and I cant believe my progress from my first lesson the moves are broken down making them easily understood and overall its great fun :-)

I have always been erratic with my exercise routine, the amount of times I have joined a gym only to attend for 6 months and then be totally bored by it. 18 months ago I knew I needed to do something, I was so unfit and so I joined a pole dancing class and I love it. I always thought it was a form of dance for skinny, young people but was glad to see people of all sizes and ages. I've never stuck at anything this long and I always look forward to my class each week. Not only it is great as a form of exercise but also a fantastic way to meet new people.
Pole Ambition is a great place to learn, our teachers are excellent, they encourage and empower you making the whole experience extremely enjoyable.

If you need more fun and laughs from your fitness routine and find the gym a little heavy going and boring, then Pole Dancing could be the sport for you!
Pole Dancing classes involve many different styles; spins, held poses and linking moves. It is like a cross between gymnastics on a pole and linking moves which make the dance flow together and look nice.
I started going to Pole Dancing lessons when I was 36, and have now been going for a few years and am now classed as an Advanced student.
My overall fitness has really improved, prior to doing this, I used to visit an osteopath 3-4 time a year for a weak back, now they call me up for a check up and I haven't seem them in years! I am so much fitter, yet I don't feel like I've worked hard to achieve it because it's been so much fun along the way!

I am 20 years old, soon to be 21, and have been going to Pole Ambition for approximately 4 months. I absolutely love the lessons and feel I have progressed in all aspects of fitness from week to week! My confidence has also grown with each week.
I first found out about Pole Ambition from a friend who attended their lessons and would fully recommend the classes to anyone, infact I do recommend them to everyone! I have a male friend who also attends the classes so it is not just for women. The prices are very reasonable and all the other members are very friendly! The more advanced students give advice and it is a real boost to see them do moves that you can't! Give it a try and i'm sure you will love it as much as I do :D

Q. Is Pole Dancing Difficult?
A. Everybody takes to pole dancing differently. Some find it easier than others but you just have to try it and see. If you struggle it may take just one or two lessons to get the hang of. Most people need to do a couple of classes before they feel at ease doing some of the moves. Like anything the more you do it, the easier it gets.

Q. Does it hurt?
A. As this is a new form of exercise to your body you will find that you will ache a little for a few days after your lesson. This is because you are working muscles that you probably didn't even know you had! This in known as DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) which is when your muscles are repairing from the new exercise and are developing more strength and tone. As you build up your strength you will feel this less after your lessons. When learning new moves it is easy to bruise your arms and legs. This will lessen as you get used to performing the moves.

Q. Does Age, Size and Shape Matter?
A. No. Anyone can learn how to Pole Dance whatever the age, body shape or dress size. We tailor our lessons to each individual student to make sure you learn at your own pace and abilities.

Q.Do I need to be really fit, sting and flexible?
A. No. Your strength and fitness will improve gradually over time. This is the same for your flexibility.

Q. Do I need and Dance experience to Pole Dance?
A. No. You will learn to flow moves comfortably as you master each move and create your own style.

Q. Are There Different Class Levels?
A. We have 10 different levels to work through. Classes are of mixed abilities as this is a great way to learn. We pair you up with another student of the same level and teach you at your own pace.

Q. What do I wear?
A. Shorts are essential as you need the skin of your legs to grip the pole and a short sleve top. You do not have to wear footwear but you can use small pumps or ballet shoes. Students can wear heels but we do not recommend this for new students.

Q. Does anyone watch the class?
A. We do not allow spectators In class as students generally do not feel comfortable with this.
